Winter Sports in Kazakhstan - for those that look for something different. 
This program takes place in Almaty, which can be reached directly from several European mainports, several times a week.
Almaty is situated at the feet of the Northern Tien Shan Mountain Range with peaks up to 5,000 meter. Approaching from Almaty you will first reach the famous skating rink of Medeo at almost 1700 m, where till the eighties numerous world records were established and broken. In our proposed program you will spend the first 2.5 days in and around Medeo, with plenty of chances to skate or just hike in the surroundings.
Skiing and snowboarding is also well-possible nearby Almaty, at the ski-resort Chymbulak, some 4500 m up from Medeo by (brandnew) cablecar. Here you will stay another two days in a hotel ane be able to test the Kazakh pistes. Please note that in the weekend the pistes are crowded with Almatys nouveau riche but during weekdays almost deserted. (more information on Chymbulak in the dayprograms).
For the last two days you will return to Almaty and can enjoy the cities sights and enjoy nightlife, either the discotheques and nightclubs or theater and concerthall.
