Day 1

Day travel distance: 
10 km

Meeting at Ashgabat International airport. (Flight T5-712 departs from Almaty at 14:40hrs and arrival in Ashgabat at 16:30hrs).
You'll be transfered to your hotel, which will be  ***Hotel Turkmenistan and another hotel if desired.
In the evening you may explore the city by yourself. 

Day 2

Day travel distance: 
400 km

Today an early rise because we have to catch a flight to Mary T5-125 at 07:00 o’clock. (flight time and number may vary). Arrival in Mary at 07:40 o’clock. Transfer to Ancient Merv (27 km from Mary) and visits to: Erk Kala (VI century BC), Gyaur Kala (III century BC), Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar (XII century), Big and Small Kiz Kala (VI-VII century AD), Mausoleum of Muhammed ibn Zeid (XII century).
Followed by a visit of the History Museum in Mary
Back to the airport to catch the flight to Ashgabat T5-132 at 19:40 o’clock. Arrival in Ashgabat at 20:20 o’clock (flight time and number may vary). Transfer to the hotel, overnight in the hotel.

 

Day 3

Day travel distance: 
30 km

A full day in Ashgabat with a varied program. First of all we visit the spectacular Tolkuchka Bazaar, of of the largest bazaars in Central Asia (opened on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). There are camels and goats on offer, but foremost the most splendid carpets!
We follow up with a visit of the National Museum of Turkmenistan. The archeological collection contains very rare works of art of ancient times and the middle ages that were found on the territory of Turkmenistan. About 500.000 exhibits are displayed in this museum.
A visit of the Ruhy Mosque – the biggest mosque in Central Asia where 20.000 people can pray at one time and where the family mausoleum of the first President of Turkmenistan, Saparmyrat Turkmenbashy, is situated.
We continue to Nisa, one of the capital cities of Parthian Empire, that was the residence of many Parthian Kings (III BC-IIIAD)
A vsit of Ertogrul Gazi Mosque, and a visit of the Arch of Neutrality. We can observe a wonderful panoramic view from the arch at a 75m height.
Overnight in the hotel.

Day 4

Day travel distance: 
50 km

Another day in and around Ashgabat, that remarkable mix of old history and modern megalomany.
After breakfast we'll have visits planned at: the Seyitjemal etddin Mosque in Anau (15th C.), destroyed by the 1948 earthquake; the Monument of Independence; the Russian bazaar; the house of a weaver; the Cable Car Road; the Road of Health.
Overnight in the hotel.

Day 5

Day travel distance: 
700 km

Transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Dashoguz T5-103 at 10:30 o’clock (flight time and number may vary). Arrival in Dashoguz at 11:20 o’clock. Transfer to Kunya Urgench (100km).
Sightseeing in Kunya Urgench: Mausoleum of Turabek Hanum, Minaret of Kutlug Timur-the tallest minaret in Central Asia, Mausoleum of Sultan Tekesh, Mausoleum of Il Arslan, Mausoleum of Najm et-din Kubra and Sultan Ali.
We finish today with a transfer to Dashoguz and overnight in the ***hotel Uzboy. 

Day 6

Day travel distance: 
50 km

The program in Turkmenistan has come to an end. You may choose to return to Ashgabat, and onwards, or (logically) cross the border into Uzbekistan and transfer to the nearby, beautiful historic town of Khiva, where you'll have half a day for visiting.
