Day 1
Arrival in Bishkek and transfer to the hotel. You can choose between the simple *** hotel Alpinist, or in a more luxurious hotel (e.g. ***** Club Hotel Bishkek, or **** Silk Road Lodge, or ****Ak Kemme Hotel).
After checking in you can enjoy a citytour, with visits to the Historical Museum, an Art Gallery, the national bazar and a small walk through the parks.
Dinner.
Airport Manas in Bishkek lies 30 km, a 40 minutes drive, from the city.
You may also arrive in Bishkek by minibus (approx. 5 hours) from Almaty, a very common and cheap means of transportation.
Day 2
Todat we drive to the Issyk Kul Lake (altitude of 1600m). On the way we visit the historical complex of Burana.
Dinner and overnight in Tamchi (homestay). Alternatively you may choose to stay in the spa-hotel 'Karven Hotel Issyk Kul', along the lake.
Day 3
One full day for exploring the surroundings on the northside of the Issyk Kul Lake, visit of the petroglyphs around Cholpon Ata, visit the Museum and stroll along the beach. In summer swimming is well possible, with water temperatures around 21-22 degrees Celcius in July-August.
Overnight is in ***Hotel Amir in the town of Karakol.
Day 4
Today we stay in Karakol town, visiting several interesting sights. First of all we visit a local womenproject for making national souvenirs, then the Przhevalsky memorial complex and the local museum. Also we visit a Dungan Mosque and the 19th century wooden Russian Orthodox Cathedral.
Overnight again in ***Hotel Amir, Karakol.
Day 5
We drive to Jety Oguz (translated as ‘Seven Bulls’), the famous valleys with red sandstone wallformation, forests and flowers. Accommodation in a yurt-camp or in a local yurt (depending on the possibilities).
All day for exploring the nature of the famous valleys, with possibilities for horse-riding and guided nature walks.
Lunch and dinner in the yurt.
Day 6
Today we travel along the southside of the Issyk Kul Lake to the village of Bokonbaevo. If possible we visit the local eagle hunter, followed by a lunch in the village.
After lunch we move on to the village of Kochkor where we visit the local workshop for making and selling the Kyrgyz national carpets.
We stay in this village for dinner and for the night (homestay).
Day 7
We return to Bishkek, having lunch on the way. In Bishkek you'll have leisure time.
In the evening you'll fly back to Almaty - or any other place - depening on your plans.
